The Well Drilling Guide is the site's publishing name. A legal operator name has not yet been confirmed for publication; quote requests remain unavailable.

The Well Drilling Guide is an educational resource for US homeowners planning a private water well. We publish planning guidance, a cost calculator, a printable quote-comparison worksheet, vetting checklists, and a directory of separate source observations from the jurisdictions shown on the directory hub. The directory includes individual and business license records, contractor registrations, employers named in a licensee roster and certificate observations with supplied employer or status labels. Oklahoma records come from a historical 2013 roster; North Carolina employer or status rows omit the individual certificate holders' names. Its 866 Texas listings remain individual license records; two Texas company affiliations have separate supporting evidence.

The additional rosters came in supplied files received October 11, 2026. That date is not a fresh agency verification, and inclusion does not establish current licensing, company identity or service coverage. Missing fields remain missing, and distinct records remain separate even when they share a name or phone. See how listings work for the source and record distinctions.

The publisher is a directory and guide publisher, not a drilling contractor

This site does not drill wells, install pumps, sell drilling equipment, or perform water testing, and it does not act as a general contractor for your project. Our role is to help you ask better questions and compare written offers before you hire a qualified local professional.

The operator information and working public contact available for publication appear above. The site's publishing name is The Well Drilling Guide. We publish a legal operator name only when it has been supplied and confirmed by the owner. Send questions and corrections through the contact page.

Why this resource exists and who it serves

We serve US private-well homeowners: first-time well buyers deciding whether and how to proceed. Private domestic well drinking-water quality is not federally regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act the way public water systems are, and owners are responsible for their drinking-water safety—one reason owner-facing guidance matters. How the site is funded

Public source records are listed free. The site does not currently accept quote requests, and no company is enrolled as a participating quote recipient. We therefore do not describe the current directory as funded by delivered leads.

The intended future commercial model is for participating drilling companies to pay for requests they receive. That service will remain unavailable until company identity, genuine service coverage, consent, delivery, homeowner notification, retention and operator accountability are verified. Paying for a future request will not buy a higher position in the public source-record listings. Any future paid or featured placement will be labeled; see how driller listings are selected and displayed.

Editorial responsibility and correction route

  2. First-party implementation evidence: separate source observations across 15 jurisdictions, including 866 Texas individual license records and two separately evidenced Texas company affiliations. The additional rosters were supplied in CSV files received 2026-10-11, not freshly verified with agencies; Indiana employer records are grouped by source jurisdiction rather than physical address state. Browser-local tools; no participating companies; public quote requests and analytics disabled. Working public contact supplied by the owner on 2026-10-11; legal operator name not supplied.

Claims are grounded in the dated source notes above; project-specific price, yield, licensure and permit answers require site-specific and local verification.
