Privacy requests: inquiries@thewelldrillingguide.com.
This notice describes how The Well Drilling Guide handles information today and distinguishes that from the quote service being prepared. Public quote requests are currently unavailable. You can use the guide and directory without submitting your name or contact details.
What we collect
- Contact email. If you email the address shown above, the operator receives your email address, message and any details or attachments you send. These are used to answer your question, assess a correction or handle a privacy request. Avoid sending unnecessary personal information.
- Quote requests. The public site does not currently accept them. The prepared service would collect your ZIP code, county, project type, timing, project details, name, phone and email, together with the submission time, consent wording and version, and referring license-record ID, if present. Its abuse controls use a one-way IP hash; the quote database does not store the raw IP address or browser user-agent information.
- The directory, calculator and worksheet. Directory search, the cost calculator and the quote-comparison worksheet run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent, stored or recorded.
- Analytics and cookies. The site uses no analytics tags, advertising networks or tracking cookies.
- Hosting and email services. The providers that serve this website and receive contact email may process ordinary request or email-delivery data to operate their services. The quote database's retention rules described below do not establish retention periods for those separate services.
Who receives a quote request
No quote request is routed by the current public site, and no company is currently enrolled as a participating recipient. A public directory record is not permission to receive homeowner details.
Before the prepared service opens, its recipients must be separately identified participating companies with confirmed contact details and evidenced coverage of the homeowner's county. A homeowner must be notified which company receives the request, or that no eligible match is available. We do not sell contact messages or homeowner details to data brokers or advertisers.
Why we use it
We use contact messages to respond and maintain accurate content and records. A future quote service would use consented requests to match a company, report delivery or lack of coverage, and record whether a request was accepted or work was booked. Participating companies may pay for future requests; there are currently no enrolled recipients or active public quote collection.
Where it is stored and for how long
Contact messages arrive in the operator's email account. To request deletion of your correspondence, use the address shown above. No fixed mailbox-retention period has yet been confirmed for publication.
The prepared quote service uses a private Supabase database with access restricted to the operator and authorized backend processing. It is designed to delete each request and its associated delivery messages and outcome events from the active database 90 days after submission, regardless of whether work was booked. Its IP hash is removed after 7 days; any browser user-agent information retained by an earlier version is removed on the same schedule. An authenticated deletion process allows earlier deletion of a verified request.
These automated rules must be deployed and tested before quote collection is enabled. They do not delete copies already received by a participating company, email-provider copies or provider backups. The operator must verify and disclose those separate retention arrangements before opening the service.
Information about drillers in the directory
The directory contains separate observations attributed to public sources in the jurisdictions shown on the directory hub. The 866 Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records identify individual license holders. Other source rosters include individual and business licenses, contractor registrations, Indiana employers named in a licensee roster, and North Carolina certificate numbers under supplied employer or status labels. Some listed locations are outside the source jurisdiction. North Carolina certificate holders' names are absent from the supplied file and remain unknown. Each record can include the source's names, phone numbers, email and address details; unknown fields remain missing.
Each listing identifies its source. The Texas retrieval date describes its TDLR snapshot; the additional rosters show when the supplied file was received, October 11, 2026, and a source roster edition where known. That file receipt is not a fresh agency check. Oklahoma's supplied edition is dated January 24, 2013 and does not establish current licensing. A source's jurisdiction and a listed physical address state may differ, and neither establishes service coverage. Physical address states omitted from the Minnesota, New York and Pennsylvania files remain unknown; North Carolina's supplied employer county is not treated as a physical address state or a service area. Listed business names are not automatically treated as verified company affiliations. Two Texas company associations have separate supporting evidence; no directory record establishes consent to receive leads. See how listings work.
Your choices and requests
Email the address shown above to ask what the site holds about you or to request correction or deletion. If your request concerns a previous quote submission, include the email address used and the request date or reference if available. We may need enough information to verify that the request concerns your information. Public source-record corrections may also require action with the source agency; removing a copy from this site does not alter the agency's record. The contact page explains what to include, and the terms of use explain how the site may be used.
Sources & claim context
Citations mark where guidance is grounded. They are general resources dated on retrieval, not guarantees for any property, project, price, licensure, permit or yield. No expert, attorney or reviewer signoff is claimed by this site.
First-party implementation evidence: separate public source observations across 15 jurisdictions, including 866 Texas individual licenses and two separately evidenced Texas company affiliations; additional source rosters supplied in CSV files received 2026-10-11, not freshly agency-verified. Browser-local tools; no analytics or site tracking cookies; public quote requests disabled. Owner-provided working contact on 2026-10-11. Prepared Supabase quote workflow uses 90-day request deletion and 7-day abuse-data removal; deployment, mailbox and provider-backup retention need verification before lead activation.
Claims are grounded in the dated source notes above; project-specific price, yield, licensure and permit answers require site-specific and local verification.
